The Diamond Guide

The Cut

The Cut is the most important factor because it controls how much a diamond reflects light. A well-cut diamond will look brilliant and "full of fire," while a poor cut can make even a expensive stone look dull and small.

EX - Excellent

VG - Very Good

G - Good

If you want that classic diamond sparkle, always prioritize an Excellent (3EX) cut over a larger carat weight.

The Colour

Most diamonds appear white, but many actually have subtle traces of yellow or brown. The scale runs from D (pure icy white) to Z (light yellow).

DEF - colourless

GHIJ - near colourless

KLM - faint yellow

For the best value, look for D-F for lab-grown diamonds, and G–J range for natural diamonds.

The Clarity

Clarity measures "birthmarks" (inclusions) visible under a microscope.

Best Value: Choose VS1 or VS2 for an "eye-clean" look that appears flawless to the naked eye. Lab-grown stones offer higher clarity grades, like VVS, more affordably.

  • VVS (Very Very Slightly Included) - always eye-clean
  • VS (Very Slightly Included) - minor inclusions, typically eye-clean
  • SI (Slightly Included) - noticeable marks, Sometimes eye-clean (check the VS1/VS2 range for the best value)

Certification

All of our lab-grown diamonds are IGI-certified for guaranteed quality. Including all Ready to Ship engagement rings.

We also offer natural diamonds in GIA-certifications and gemstones in GRD and Guild certifications. All natural diamonds and gemstones are made to order.
